  • Personal and social relationships

Our providers will assess patient's current nutritional status and eating behaviors, provide appropriate weight monitoring, encourage healthy thinking and behaviors about food. The individual nutrition and lifestyle counseling sessions will also provide tailored nutrition education and recommendations, explore the patient's relationship to food and body image, and set appropriate goals in working toward intuitive, mindful, and healthy eating.

Intuitive Eating

Intuitive mindful eating is a non-dieting approach to create and make changes in your eating habits. This approach is creating the ability to trust your body and to make food choices that feel good to you, without the judgment or the diet culture influence.

If you find yourself consumed with the amount of energy you spend on thinking about food and your body; you may be a great candidate for intuitive eating.

Intuitive eating and good gut health has been shown to provide physical and mental health benefits. We can help provide a refreshed relationship with food and with yourself. Our approach is to help you learn to listen to your body and understand its needs. Your body deserves the nourishment Intuitive eating can give.

Mindful Eating

Mindfulness refers to ideas of non-judgment, patience, and living in the present moment stretch back to ancient Buddhism.

As more practitioners have embraced mindful eating in recent years, its basics have become more mainstream. However, mindful eating is not a trademarked diet program, and no absolute consensus exists about which activities or principles define it. In essence, mindful eating involves harnessing present-moment awareness before, during, and after eating.

Many research studies have concluded that people who received mindfulness training were able to reduce binge eating and emotional eating behaviors.

Chronic Illness
Management

Chronic conditions are diseases of long-term duration and may result from a combination of genetic, physiological, environmental, and behavioral factors.

Strategies for managing these chronic conditions are usually multidimensional, and at the centre of these approaches are nutritional interventions, regular physical activity, and lifestyle modifications. The role of nutrition in chronic disease management is particularly crucial as diet is a modifiable risk factor for most chronic conditions that exist either as single conditions or in comorbid states.
